Sea Shell Beach. Also Like Your Own Private Resort!

Sea Shell Beach is about 9 miles west of town. Watch for ‘Beach Access’ signs. It looks like your driving into the parking lot of the Escapes Galveston Resort condominiums. The beach parking lot is just next to it.

Sea Shell is a Pocket Park. As a pocket park beach it is comparable to the others. But you are a distance from conveniences.

It feels remote, but with a feel of community security.

The Downside - For Now.

Sea Shell beach does not have indoor showers or toilets. The pavilion is still closed because of nasty old hurricane Ike.

Hopefully next season it will be repaired.

During the summer season parking is $8.00. In the off season I think you only pay on weekends.

You are a few miles from any restaurants.

But this beach has a very nice backdrop.

Do you need it all for a few days? Need it all for an extended period of time? Then you want to check out Escapes Galveston. It is right there on the beach.

You won’t find garish signs pointing out the obvious. The neighborhood is a sprinkling of private homes. It is very easy on the eyes. The entire feel has the ‘away for it all‘! Take in all that space. Slow down, relax.

This seems the ideal Time Share/Resort on the island. This resort offers one and two bed room condos. Each comes with private bedroom, living area, and kitchen. Every room has a balcony facing the Gulf - Eye relief!

The challenge is planning a head to get a room.

We have not been able to get reservations. It seems that impromptu travel can be a hindrance at times. Even when planning ahead it is difficult to find openings here. We'll keep trying. It looks well worth the effort. These are the only accommodations offered directly on the beach.

If you like the away from it all feel. Escapes Galveston has it. It is not crowded by neighboring Hotels.

Do you need more than a place to sleep? And, does it have to be on the beach? The Escapes is the place.
